I have a 1982 F100 2wd that has dual tanks. Well, the front tank is now out for better weight distribution. Next question is, are the tank senders the same between the two tanks? I want to drop the tank and make it a 3/8" or 1/2" pickup tube. If they are the same, I can just modify my old one and not worry about it. Thanks

I'm not sure if they are. isn't the front tank deeper than the back? I think it is,IIRC.

I would have to guess no they are not. Totally different fuel pump assemblies, so knowing ford the senders would NOT be the same part number. I 'd almost guarantee they weren't the same. Being also the depth of the 2 tanks, (replaced hundreds of them), are really different. My .002------------------ You can sleep in your race car, but you can't race your house!

I also have a 1977 F150 parts truck that has both tanks. Do you know if the sender in that rear tank would be the same as the one in my 1982 F100?------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. Most likely. They aren't injected. The best way is to compare. Take it to a place that stocks replacements.
