I posted this on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts message board but figured I'd do the same here:

We have an 04 F150 Supercrew. Over the past few months a subtle vibration has developed in the steering wheel. No big deal, it seems to come and go and I attributed it to the tires. (which, btw, are General Ameritrac TR P255-70R17).

However, recently a sever intermittent vibration has sprung up. I had it happen a couple months ago, and attributed it to the road, but over the weekend my wife actually called me to come get here when the thing started vibrating enough that the wipers were shaking. This occured about 40-45 mph. I went and took it for a drive and could not duplicate the vibration!

Now going into work this morning, a moderate-to-severe vibration sprung up at about 70mph. It lasted for about 2 miles then went away.

What's up with that

Try rotating the tires and see if the vibration moves to the rear.

It's in warranty,so check with the dealer. It may be something common,or a TSB is out.

You didn't hear if from me, but there are some concerns with vibration with newer model pickups.
Take it to the dealer. :>)
