The fuel pump eccentric on my 400m is loose. Does anyone know what could have caused this? Can it just get loose, or is something broke?

The bolt on the cam sprocket must have backed off.

Hose 'er out the cam bolt hole and clean off the bolt with a degreaser/ electrial contact cleaner, dry, then apply an ample amount of locktite to cam bolt threads, torque to spec. Done deal, moving on..........

Thanks guys. I'll give it a whirl. Got any idea what the torque spec is for it? Didn't see it in my Chilton's book.

That was a 5/16" bolt,so I would say about 15-20 Ft Lbs. I don't have a spec book for a 400M.
