Well this figures, I posted in another forum about how well my 95 F-150 4x4 with Mazda transmission was working, and sure enough, it looks like I'm going to need a rebuild now (152,000 miles, I shouldn't complain). Was towing a small trailer up Loveland pass through the Eisenhower Tunnel the tranny didn't want to stay in gear. Now I've got gear whine in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. Shifts fine until it gets really hot. What should a rebuild cost? The local scAAMCO is estimating between $2200 to $2800 depending upon what they find. Is that reasonable?

There goes the last working one. I'd check the boneyards, I don't know if I'd want to put much money in a Mazda 5 speed. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

No, I'd blame the component purchaser at the Ford Motor Company Truck Division, Miss Edith Prickley. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip
