Hey Guys: A friend of mine has a VERY beautiful '92, F250, 7.3L diesel, long box, A/C, cruise, PW, PL, buckets seats with center console, color-matched fiberglass tonneau cover, and a Gale Banks Turbo & exhaust system. To top it off, it just turned 27K miles! It's been garage kept & never seen a snow flake! But, he says it can't pull his 24' enclosed racecar trailer and carry his 11' camper at the same time....so he's wanting to step up to a '04 F350 dually. I think he told me that Kelly's Blue Book has it listed at $7650, but he's looking for 10K-11K$, due to the added turbo & other equipment he's installed and excellent condition. Now, I've heard some say the 7.3L diesel series didn't make for a good & reliable truck. However, I think my friend asking it to do more than it is simply capable of. I, on the otherhand, am cofortable using my '65 F100 to tow my 2K# flat-bed racecar hauler & 3K# racecar with two tool boxes, a floor jack & cooler in the truck box to my local dragstrip less than 5 miles away. But, I'm not as confident with it's reliability & safety if I was to venture to another track a 150 miles and many hills away. Of course, now the golden question - Do you fellas think it's worth the 10K$ - 11K$ that my friend is asking for it? Talk to me guys,,,,, Thanks in Advance! Ryan

Sorry, but I looked it up at Edmunds, and a private sale value was $2700. Retail $3900. I think he is way off. I can't tell, but by what you're saying I'd guess $4500 max. Just because it was upgraded years ago with a turbo kit, doesn't mean those parts hold 100% value. Reality has to hurt sometimes. That was a 2wd truck, right? Yeah, it's a 2WD, XLT, SuperCab. It must have other options that I'm not aware of,,, because when I plugged it in to the Kelly's Blue Book web site at: (http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.urr?kbb.MI;146659;MI117&48888;pic;p&751;Ford;1992%20F250&12;FT;DA& ) it came out at $6350. Yeah, I agree with you Mike, he's asking alot of $$, it's weird how the estimating sites differ that much....and they all are a long way from 10-11K$. I was thinking IF most folks think that the 7.3 diesel is/was a good engine, then I would look around at other diesel F250s on the market with around 27K miles...since the condition of the truck is probably as nice or better condition than most 2 or 3-yr old trucks. Does that make any sense???? Thanks in advance again for your comments, Ryan

I looked up a standard cab,but I doubt there would be a $3000 difference. If it is that good, then it would probably be worth $6-7k. Just don't expect a resale value.
