A friend of mine wrecked an 83 4X4 and he is considering buying a 86 that has an engine problem. He wants to keep all the 4X4 stuff. When he wrecked it, the cab was damaged heavily. NOW would it be easier to swap JUST the cab using the donor 86 OR switch all the running gear including the 4X4 stuff to the 86? JS

Swap the cab. I helped a friend do this with a brand x truck several years ago and it was a lot easier than you'd think. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '70 Mustang Convertible - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150

It's real easy, unless the cab mount bolts are stuck. Then you'll have to cut them. Otherwise,it's a direct bolt from cab to frame. We are assuming that the frame is straight, right? If not,it's still possible. You'll just need the 4x4 frame perches, and a hole for the transfer case lever. [This message has been edited by MLariviere (edited 08-17-2003).]
