I've been thinking of turning my 98 Ford Ranger extended cab into a convertible --
sort of an affordable mid-life crisis since I can't afford the mustang convertible and besides, I really like my Ranger.

Does anyone here have experience with this, or know where I might start look for answers?

Thanks,

John

Hey John! Welcome to M&M!

There are kits for this. People into 'Sport Trucks' do this quite a bit in California. {You might want to pick up a copy of 'Sport Truck' magazine. http://www.sporttruck.com/ }

I'll see if I can dig anything else up.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you can't afford a Mustang convertible, you probably won't be able to afford having a convertible top professionally installed. In addition to the cost of the kit, there's a lot of body work that needs to be done. This won't be cheap.
