Hi,I've got an '85 F150 that has had it's engine replace. The guy who put the new engine in never hooked up the A/C and I want to take it off. I've already remove the tank and now want to take off the compressor. Is there any problem removing the compressor or anything? I'm thinking that it will reduce the load on the engine since it wont be there. There is the mounting bracket, an idler pulley and the A/C Compressor. Anyone see any problems in removing this? After I get this removed, I'll only have the Alternator and Power steering pump to be run by the engine... Hopefully this will help in gas mileage a bit.. thanks, --mark

If you already broke the lines,it's a simple unbolt. If not, you're supposed to catch the r-12. There are fines if caught releasing it.
