on a used Ford truck. I've found a '97 Lariat that seems to be fairly priced and am looking for input on the pros and cons of that year. I used to have a '94 and loved it. Does anyone have any helpful info? Is this the first year of the body style change? Are there problems with the electrical system? What's the best engine option? At how many miles can I expect problems? Thanks for your help!

Yes, '97 was the first year of the restyled F series. From what I've heard they are standing up pretty well.

I had a '97 XLT flareside for about a year, worked out well. Only problems were the o2 sensors went out due to the way the a/c drained frost build up and the rear drive shaft u-joints. After i chipped the 5.4 I was happy with it. Then after some hail damage and relizing I just plain needed a bigger truck I bought the superduty. Now I'm really happy

Well, I looked at it, and tried hard to find something wrong. (You know, to negotiate a better price). Only cosmetic blemishes and the high miles. Did a title search, its clean. Called the bank to see what loan value is, and I went ahead and bought it for about half of the loan value. So, now I need to decide what to do with my Mustang. I really want a boat, but I can't have too many toys at the same time.
