Just talked to out racing buddy that was trading his 01 PSD for an 03 dually which he picked up last week. He's in love again! He says the power difference is amazing. He's not sure how the mileage is cause he's having so much fun stoplight to stoplight. He really likes the new auto trans. also. It has a towing mode that lets it downshift for slowing down. The question came up in another thread about oil capacity. He thinks it said 14 quarts in the manual. The motor is almost completely concealed with turbo, hoses, covers and the like, so service on major items might be a pain. He is making a real test this week. He's towing the 48 footer to Texas Motorplex so fuel mileage etc. will be for real. I'll get a report next week. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Yup, that's what it'll be. That's how this guy is. He'll wring it out, believe me. He told me once that I drive mine way too easy. He says they are built to be run up against the governor all the time. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Fun for the driver going down hill; no fun for the neighbor next to the boulevard.

I'm not sure this man is all that intersted in brakes. His racecar is a backhalved 74 Nova with a 555 that made 940 HP on the dyno this winter. He likes to go fast! ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

You'd be surprised how many truckers find themselves in that situation behind my house at 2 in the morning in the summer with my bedroom windows open. They don't do it as much in the wintertime, it seems. Sometimes I feel like my bed is in the breakdown lane. I need to move. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

Got a report last night. The new truck got 9.6 MPG running with the cruise set at 82 MPH in Kansas. 75 is the speed limit there. He loves the truck and particularly the new transmission. The downshift mode for braking works great. He also weighed the rig and fully loaded for a long week-end it weighs in at a hefty 28,000 lbs. This is a 48 foot trailer with living quarters, complete with shower, toilet, hot water heater, fridge, stove microwave and AC. He carries his racecar, a golf cart, and a junior dragster. The trailer has a generator, air compressor and large toolbox. For the weight he's pulling, I'd say its doing real well. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

He actually was considering a medium duty truck, but decided this route was better. He could buy a new F350 and have a warrantee for less money than a used med. duty.He told me its the best investment he's ever made. He likes it that much.

Not to mention the insurance and registrations will be alot cheaper. Does he have/need a CDL for this? The limit before CDL in Me. is 11,500.
