Does anyone have some drawings/schematics for a 93 Ranger with a 4 speed automatic tranny? It appears I get the luxury of looking at one that second gear is slipping in. A picture of the valve body and which passages goes where would be greatly appreciated.I am trying to avoid buying any books on this thing

I have a AOD manual, but you probably have a EAOD, right?------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

I haven't even seen the truck, let alone know what kind of tranny is in it. I just know it is a four speed auto. And I was hoping, just hoping, there was only one four speed auto being used. I knew better though.How can I tell the difference if (when) I climb under it?

You may just need a valve body gasket. That's what happened in my Explorer,but it's a 5 speed auto. I think they are relatively similar,though. The valve body was bad,too.{warped}

Story on the tranny...........It was just rebuilt, less than 5000 miles ago. Shop that did the work won't fix it, so owner sells the truck to my father in law for $400. Reputable shop says that they will rebuild a core and install for $1100. Don't have the money for that right now. Same shop test drove it, and says that second gear is slipping, but nothing seems wrong anywhere else. Do I trust the shop? My father in laws Dodge one ton tranny, his cherokees tranny, my cherokees tranny, and now my uncles blazers tranny has been rebuilt there. I had a problem that they busted their *** to figure out, and they did. So, yes, I trust them.

Believe it or not Steve, no they didn't. The old owner got fed up with it and sold it to my father in law for $400.The shop that rebuilt it also rebuilt a tranny for a friend of mine a little while ago (2-3 years) and it took them forever (2-3 months) to get it done. When it was finally done they had only installed two tranny to block bolts because they "had lost the other bolts." I told my friend to sue their butts off when the bolts fell out!
