Hi all, I own a '80 F150 2wd supercab, with a 300-6cyl. and 4 speed standard. All the tags on the truck says a 351M should of been in there. oh well. My question is, my wife cant drive a standard, and I want to put in an auto, I have a C4, FE C6, and an FMX around, which one will fit without alot if extra work, and what would be involved, driveshaft, convertor, mount, etc. I have a B&M shifter I'll put in if I do it. Thanx alot. Rick

Well, the FE C6 is out because of the big block bellhousing. So that leaves the C4 and the FMX. Both will bolt up to the engine and the crossmember, IIRC, but the C4 was used OEM so that would be helpful if you need boneyard parts.------------------

I agree that the C4 would be the easiest, but can't help ya on the driveshaft length. Maybe you could take some measurements and see if they are close.

I think you'll be very close as long as you have the long tailshaft housing,ie big car. Mustang and Cougar have short housings.
