...would you recommend for a '78 F150 with a warmed over 302? I'm wondering if some sort of RV-type torque converter would be better than simply keeping the OEM converter...

The rearend is currently an OE 2.75:1, but it may get pulled for a 3.00 or 3.25 gear in the future... A cam change will be to a "slightly lumpy" but not obnoxious hydraulic grind.

This is a 'Sunday-local-car-show-type' of truck, no racing, no bad weather, maybe (but I doubt it) a small garden tractor size trailer some day....

I think it's a C-6.........

I think it would be nice, but honestly I wouldn't spend the money.

The gear change will do more for you than the convertor will,and with less work.

Agreed. The C6 will be fine. Go with new gears and posi.
