There is a late-model Dodge truck locally that has a vinyl decal on the rear window that says: "Cummins - Built to Choke Powerstroke". It is in BIG letters and I have seen it a few times recently (The really funny thing is that when he steps on the accelerator, a BIG plume of black smoke literally chokes everyone. He must have some power adder that causes more fuel to be put into the engine than is required).I can't let this go unanswered so I am asking for your help in rebutting. I pledge to install BIGGER vinyl letters on the rear window on my 2000 F350 crewcab dually PSD if we can come up with a even snappier line. How 'bout some help here guys?? Our honor is at stake and the gauntlet has hit me in the face. ------------------ MarkC ~ 1970 Mach 1 T-5 1965 Shelby Trans Am coupe (clone)

I wouldn't get a sticker that touts non-smokiness of the PSD. The Cummins guy probably has an aftermarket chip, possibly propane as well. Check in his bed or underneath it (if you get a chance) and look for a propane tank. If he's got propane and you don't, it'll torch a PSD. Likewise, a PSD with propane will torch a stock Cummins.Anyway, my PSD Excursion smokes like a bastard if I hammer it. I have a 330 HP chip in it. The smoking is characteristic of a diesel with any type of mod that increases the performance. You're right in that it's delivering more fuel, because the black smoke is unburnt fuel. ------------------ -Eric SuperFord.org Admin '67 Galaxie | '00 Excursion | Ford Excursions Registry

How 'bout simply, "Cummins - Built to Choke" if it's personal thing.Or: "Cummins - Built to Choke Thank Ford for Power Stroke" ------------------ Building 1970 Grabber, 347 EFI, AOD, 9", 6pt for strip. [This message has been edited by RickBook (edited 04-25-2002).]
