Just wondering if you guys had any thoughts on my problem. Something terribly wrong has happened to my 81 F-150 I-6. Evidently the truck doesn't like to have the gas pedal pushed when I'm in gear, it chuggs a little then dies. Although, it will rev up fine in neutral. The weird thing is if I put it in first and let the truck idle it moves fine just really slow. Seems like the problem got worse after I put installed new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Before it would just jerk real bad when in gear, but it would die. Thanks for any help possible.------------------ 1968 302 5-spd Fastback 1965 Coupe 1981 F-150 email: [email protected]

Vacuum leak? Might be a bad coil, or your accel pump might not be working. Still in H'ville or are you back in Auburn?

Back in Auburn with the phantom, but the truck is in Vegas. The thing I don't get is that it got worse with all the new parts, but I guess since the accel pump and coil weren't looked at that might be the problem. Would the new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor make the problem with a coil more apparent?------------------ 1968 302 5-spd Fastback 1965 Coupe 1981 F-150 email: [email protected]

Try resetting the plug gap, if they're too close or to open it can cause this.
