uhmm just keep pushing and pulling til it comes out? it shouldn't be too much gas coming out..but its a good idea to have a rag near by and make sure the engine is cold too....that's just my opinion

Ran into this the first time I replaced the filter on my 92 F150.The fuel line has little springs up inside it. Takes a special tool that you slide on the line. Side it down the line and slip up inside and push the release springs. You can buy the little tools cheap. I bought a whole set with about 6 sizes for less than $12 from Auto Zone. Here is single metal http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/product4785.html The whole set is useful as you can do a/c lines and tranny coolers. The set I bought is all plastic, but for how often it is used it's fine. http://www.menintools.com/lisle/generalfuel.html Later, David Cole [This message has been edited by Dave_C (edited 11-01-2001).]

NEVER yank on it to pull it apart. You will destroy the coupling, and then you're SOL. Remember too that a FI system runs on about 15-18 psi,so there will be a spray release if you do it right after it's run. Let the truck have a cool down period before you do this job. It's quite simple actually. And most important: NO SMOKING!!!
