Actually, it's on my Lightning. But anyways, the rear tank doesnt work. Wat is the easiest way to determine if it's the pump or the sending unit or ???It has gas in it, but it registers as if the tank is empty. If you switch to that tank while driving down the road, it shuts the motor off. So I do know the pump isn't doing it's job. Is there a circuit breaker that might be kicked out? I cant find a fuse for it. Thanks

I would check all the connections and switches first. For a while, my truck wouldn't let me use one of the tanks either. It eventually just started working again after about a week or two. So my guess is something electrical that might just be loose.Good luck Tom

On my 95 I can hear the pump buzzing away while the truck is running. I'd say you probably need a sending unit, but check allof your wiring first. I hope it's not the front tank. If it is,and you need to drop the tank, DON'T unhook the fillertube at the tank. You'll be in a world of problems if you do. Just unhook the filler pipe from the body at the door.[This message has been edited by MLariviere (edited 08-29-2001).]

Could also be the switching solenoid, kid, that switches from front tank to back.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 M code 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC Keep your driveway ALL Ford!!!

The first place I would look would be the selector valve. Didn't you just have the recall done a little while ago?The recall involved the selector valve. It controls what tank fuel is coming from, but also controls which fuel pump and guage is working. Sort of stange that it works fine for 8 years and then craps out such a short time after the dealership worked on it in this area. Later, David Cole

It is the rear tank. It has not worked since I bought the truck. Actually, I was hoping that when they fixed the recall item it would take care of that problem too. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
