Hello All-I was told this place was a good Ford tech site so I came over to check it out. Great forums. I'm kind of in a pathetic state right now, cars are in storage while I move into a new house. I've been working on a street/strip '86 Capri for a few years now, with any luck I'll have it buttoned up this summer. 408w/c4/4.11 Detroit 9". Also have a 514 project coming together which will go into my '76 F250 4x4 farm truck, and I have a '93 Lightning with a Powerdyne XB1A supercharger that is the parts hauler an interim "race car" until I get off my butt and finish the Capri. Basically a bunch of late model ugliness...but it's my fleet for now. I also share ownership of a '63 Mercury Marauder with my father. Pretty solid old car, but it's a bit rough around the edges...call it a 40 footer. Just installed a 390 .030over, Edelbrock heads with good valve job and pocket cleanup, Performer RPM, Comp 270H, FPA TriY headers. Haven't been back home to work out the kinks but we hope it will be a nice streeter..hope to squeak into the 13's at minimum and cruise with ease. Had the Cruisomatic convertor loosened to about 2400rpm...and we'll probably throw a set of 4.11s in it soon to help move the big barge.

Welcome to Mustangsandmore.com, Chilly! Check out all the forum's, have fun and enjoy. Also have fun with the Marauder. Sounds like a very nice ride. Thanks Dave. The Marauder just needs a bit of TLC...I guess a previous owner drove by "feel" so quite a bit of the trim has been blessed, but we've scrounged some decent trim and it's looking better. Interior received new seat cover and carpet and is in good shape, so it's a passable driver for now. Here's a pic of the car before we took delivery, we've changed to Cragar SST with 235/60/15 and 255/75/15 for a more traditional look.

Glad to see you here Chris. Also good to hear the Marauder is coming along well. I hear ya on the trim thing. My trim apparently had been magnatized somewhere along the way. It's the only explanation I can come up with for all the shopping cart dings it has in it.

Thanks FX, we're getting excited about the big Merc now that it's back up and running...we had a few stumbles along the way when doing the motor swap, nothing quite as bad as you've experienced but it can take the wind out of a project at times. It's not quite a fender shaker, but it definitely has a more appropriate sound now with a bit of cam and headers. Have to slug it out with the two ugly red barges this summer =)

Yes, that's the same Chris that runs the Network54 385 series forum. That Big Merc is pretty nice. I have seen it in person when I met Chris(Chilly460) during Carlisle last spring. That will be a nice asset to the Arby's parking lot on Woodward this year as long as you don't wuss out again by flying to Detroit instead of driving Well, at least you made it there last year even if you did ake the easy way out ------------------ Kent 392W 15:1, Iron Pro Topline 64/215s ported to 237cc, angle milled .115" to 52.5cc chambers with 2.08/1.6 valves, ported Super Victor, 1.72 rockers, Isky solid roller (290/300 adv, 256/266 at .050", .650" net lift, 108LSA/108 ICL), Crane Pro Series solid roller lifters, 9375 1050 Dominator, Victor water pump, billet 9 key timing set, custom 1 7/8"-2" step headers, 3.5" H-pipe and Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers, C4 w/9" 5000 stall, 4.30 gears, 28/10.5/15 MT ET Drags, 3200#s w/o driver.

Thanks guys. Awful tough talk coming from a bunch of Woodward newbies...I've been there three years now...you guys are still playing catch up!! Jason, yes I'm the 385 Series guy, glad to see you over here. Travis, I just moved into the new house in VA and cleared out my sad little single car garage...I'm pulling the Crapi out of storage this weekend so I can start wrenching again. Carlisle is the goal, whether or not I make it...who knows. If nothing else, I should have the Big Merc there...maybe hook up with the Esled or that guy with the tan '63 S55 and run some other barges.
