I own a 95' TC that pings excessivly at operating temperature under a load everything seems to check out ok' I have one of those $2 service CDs it shows an "Octane Adjust" connector that can be unplugged and it will retard the ignition timing 3 degrees does anyone know if the TC has this connector? where it is? does
this Ignition system have a knock sensor? any ideas why it pings?
Thanks;
Tony

Welcome to M&M Tony !
The 4.6 in the 95 TC does not have the octane adjust connector.
How many miles does you car have?
High milage 4.6 engines are notorious for oil consuption and piston deposits.

My TC has 131K and does not use any oil? I have found that the battery having a low charge has contributed to the problem although now much better I still hear the ping at times? I have driven the car with a OBD2 monitor and the timing seems to adjust properly

I have found that weak plug wires can contribute to spark knock on a 4.6 sohc also.
