Hi all,
I just recently purchased a 1968 Country Squire,and was wondering if someone would be kind enough to decode my info?The only books I have are for Mustangs.The info is as follows:vin#8J75Z....etc.
71E Q FB 16C 72 1 U
body color trim date dso axle trans.
Two more questions I know the "Z" engine code is for a 4BBL 390 but I was wondering the horse power?Also in terms of the transmission would this car have a C6 or an FMX? I appreciate any help/info.Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't have a '68 manual, but from my '70 manual I can make out that you have a:

'68, Los Angeles built Country Squire 6 passenger wagon with bench seat, medium blue metallic with medium blue vinyl {if same as '70}, built March 16 of 1967, sold in the San Jose district, 2.75 open rear, C6 automatic.
