My dad had one of those with a 221 V8. I don't believe it was a Canada only model, as his was bought here in the U.S., AFAIK.

Meteors were available in the US in 62-63, & were based on the new Fairlane chassis. However in Canada, We had several distintive Canadian car models, with the Meteor name plate being used from 49 to the late 70`s, normally looking like a US Merc, but on a full size Ford chassis from 61 up, while the earlier cars were basicaly Fords with a unique grille & trim. We also had Mercury trucks up until 68. In 60, there was the Frontenac, which was a Falcon with a new grille & taillights, with Maple Leaf hub caps. Also the Bobcat was a Mercury Pinto.GM had Pontiac Acadians (basicaly a Nova from 62-early 70`s), Beaumonts (Chevelle based, 64-69) & the full sized Canadian Pontiacs were based on Chevy chassis, with the full range of Chev engines, up to the 427. The only Pontiacs sold in Canada with real Pontiac engines were in GTO`s & Firebirds, & the 74+ Ventura. We even had re badged Chevettes, also called Acadians.

You forgot the Fargo (Dodge-ish) trucks!

A 62-63 Meteor is basically a Fairlane but with some differences...in case it's not bad enough the 62-65 Fairlane suspension is orphan to those cars...the meteor is different again, front and rear. Take a look at the strut rods with an extra coil spring in them and the front leaf spring bushings. Bizarre, eh?
