Had to be the absolute ugliest, most God forsaken Fords ever to disgrace a public (or private) highway. Pee Ewww!

Uh, uh! I'll take late 50's and early 60's over the cinder block styling of 73-78 any day.

I had a 71 LTD BRO-HAM 4 door.....it was butt-ugly green with green interior. My grandmother bought it new.

Rode like a boat and ran like a raped ape...had a 429 in it, premium fuel would knock in that thing, I believe it was like 11 to 1 compression. It was one heck of a tow vehicle....Had a large back seat too.

My friend and I used to cruise in his mom's '72 triple brown LTD. It had a 400 and what a slug that thing was! lol It barely made it to 100.

The 429 powered one would bury the speedo. It was spooky going that fast in that heavy beast, I bet it weighed 5000 pounds.
Heck, it would run a 100 with the loaded trailer behind it, just make sure you have plenty of room to stop.

71-72 still looked fairly attractive. 72 was also the last year that convertibles were offered.

There's a triple-black 429 '72 around this area. Sucker looks e-vil with the wide tires on Americans (not to mention the tasteful red pin-stripe).

Quote from the new issue of Hemmings Motor News:

"The 1973 Ford LTD looked like an escapee from a NHTSA test facility, which in a way it was. It was woefully out of sync with the times"
