But please explain to me why something as pretty as this... ...still gets my adrenaline flowing like I was still sixteen? I had one (Dark Burgundy-390-4/S) when I went into the service... Absolutely beautiful color and trim work! ------------------ I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968. #1 '64 Galaxie #2 '66 Galaxie #3 '63 GalaxieHave always caused the juice to flow (in that order imho). Took my driving test in Hyattsville, back when the DMV was still there, in a '64 Country Sedan 390, auto, 4bbl Autolite, and factory duals. Not exactly a Galaxie but just as sharp and would scream at a drop of the hammer. My dad would ask why the air cleaner lid was turned over when ever he let me use it. ------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 351C 79 Ranchero GT 97 Expedition XLT 5.4 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'If you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.' Best friend in high school (got my MD license in College Park when it was still there) parents had a new 64 wagon with a 352. The thing would scream and I remember looking over those slopped fenders. He later got himself a 63 COMET convertible (red) with a 260, bucket seats and all. My first car was a 1960 SUNLINER and I graduated to a nice 1964 GALAXIE 500 shortly after. Those were the days. Well...they are calling lunch here at the rest home and I don't want my pablum to get cold so will talk later... ------------------ I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968. Those cars are cool, were cool, and will always be. Sometimes older and simple is the best way,and this is the prime example. DO you really think America would be what it is today,if we all drove Hondas and Datsuns in the '50's? NO.

(as Homer Simpson): B I G B L O C K .I can't seem to get interested in any car built since the mid 70's (except the Mustang and some F-150's). All the new ones look like jelly beans. I couldn't identify a hit and run suspect if I had to! In the 1960's you could drive a new 427 Galaxie off the showroom floor and onto the race track and cross the finish line first. Those were the days.
