This has been my perception of these cars, and for a long time,I must admit. I wouldn't throw the right one out of my driveway, however, and I'd own it with pride. I just think these things make people look old, kinda like an Andy Griffith Show. You do have to admire the owners of these, though, especially when they smoke your doors off with all that excess iron.

If you ever watched the old original Fugitive TV series, most if not all of the police and law enforcment pursuit cars were big bodied Fords with BIG motors. IE 428's or 427's. You can always spot the emblems. Oh yeah, FoMoCo was the primary sponsor of the Fugitive.

Someone around here has a 64 XL500 Galaxie with a 406 tri-power,and it is to die for. It's gold, with a close to body color interior, not ginger or tan, though, and Torque Thrust D's. So cool.

Galaxy has to be my favorite full size car ever. I think they look mean. The father of one of my buddies in HS had a black Galaxy that would bring the front tires off the ground. 390 4 speed big old chunk of iron that was kickass.
