I have read of a garage that puts Galaxy spindles (taller) and disc brakes on their racing GT350 cars. Does anyone know what years? and modifications are required? I have 4 lug drums, I know SSBrakes makes a kit.

In the "old days" I recall reading about race teams adapting the larger 4 piston 66-67 Galaxie brakes to early Mustangs. Also I seem to recall 64-66 T-Bird spindles and brakes being used. Those parts are as obsolete now as the original Mustang brakes so I do not think that there is a savings over the SSB there.

i dunno if you'd want a taller spindle... the AFX cars used them, but that was to raise the car and make more front suspension travel. I have heard of "Lincoln" brakes being adapted. That'd be the 11 7/8" rotors and big 4 piston calipers off a 66-67 T-Bird/Lincoln/Galaxie with an adapter bracket to mount the caliper off the drum brake spindle the way the stock calipers mount.

The 4 pistons calipers generally will need rebilding, and new rotors might be needed as old ones may be tough to locate in good shape. I would think you'd need to preplan what wheels you intend to use... many 15" won't fit the T-Birds that come with those brakes.
