My question is related to the exhaust location on the '64 NASCAR Galaxies. Some of the pictures of Galaxies that year have the exhaust pipe coming out under the car, but other pictures have the pipe coming out of a hole in the rocker panel. Does anyone know why? It all depended on the chassis builder and if it was destined to be a flat track, high bank, or a dirt car. The flat track and dirt cars had the pipes up higher to keep them from getting flattened out. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 US Class Nationals link

Actually not to contradict alex, but i read an article about the nascar galaxies not to long ago and some of them had the body lowered over the frame, thus the exhaust exiting from the rocker panel. I know this was a big thing in 1962 and im pretty sure it carried on into 1964. Ill dig through my archives (ie the big pile of ford mags on the back of the toilet) and find the article and explain all the details

Nascar had rules about lowering the body on the frame back then. USAC premitted it though. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl
