gazza Journeyman Posts: 11 From: whiteford, md Registered: Jan 2001	posted 11-12-2001 08:33 PM Can anyone tell me where the numbers are on a 1972 429 v8. I have had no luck in locating the numbers on the block. I was told that the motor is a "police interceptor". Is there such a motor in a 429 and how much horsepower and compression would a motor like this have? What is the difference between the "police interceptor" motors and the cobra jet motors? any info would be greatly appreciated. IP: Logged

Also check for casting numbers on the cylinder heads. Good ones to look for are coded Dove-c ------------------ 67 Mustang F/B 70 351C 4V heads and 4 speed.
