What a cool car!

This car is supposed to precede the upcoming Mercury Grand Marquis Marauder.

The Blackhawk will be powered by a 4.6L making 235 hp/275 lbs/ft, with large diameter exhaust pipes and low-restriction mufflers. The AOD will have a high stall torque converter, aluminum driveshaft, and 3.27 rear axle. The brakes will be 4 wheel discs with 12.4" rotors in front, 11.1" in back.

The Blackhawk will have the performance handling package, be lowered 1", and P255/45ZR18 tires on alloy wheels.

All the exterior trim is blacked out, and the black leather interior is said to give a 'Men in Black' attitude.

This information was in the February 2001 Motor Trend magazine.

It's a start, but sadly, it's still underpowered

I know, I know...I'm never satisfied. What can I say?

I agree! They're already using the block and other stuff! Why not use the same intake...the same heads? Why not design a header that would breath at least as well as the Mustang, but fit on the Vic? How about a camshaft that allowed it to utilize all that power?

I'm bummed. Ford could use this platform to really pump up the Vic, yet still have the "regular" Vic line to appease most of the Vic buyers. Then again, who's to say most of the "blue hairs" out there wouldn't rather have an awesomely powered Vic?

They probably don't want to create too much competition for the Lincoln line of luxury sport sedans. I dunno....sigh

See the other post about the Mercury to catch my opinion. I would dig doing long smokey ones in a cop car!

Has that been announced? Is it rumor, or official word from Ford?

It sounds like a cop car with different wheels and minor trim changes... could easily be duplicated by those would want one.
