I am looking to buy a 351 Wiindsor. The owner says the only number he sees on the block are 6015-BA-16. Any ideas?

Any input on where I should tell this guy to look would be appreciated. He says it came out of a 69 LTD. I am just trying to confirm this.

Thanks
Jim

He's in the right area, the 6015 is the group number for the block, he just needed the first four alpha-numerals before it to help ID it. They will be located on the right side of the block above and behind where the starter motor would mount.

If it's a '69 351W the number will probably be C9OE-6015-B

Is it normal for it to be worn off? If so is there anywhere else to look?

THanks
Jim

One more. What about the cylinder heads? What should we be looking for there?

Thanks
Jim

No and no. The casting number on the heads are on the lifter galley side of the intake ports so they are only seen off the engine, but they should be C9OE-B or D, D0OE-C or G, or D0OZ-C.
