Is it possible to use my OBD II code reader to check trouble codes on a 1993 Mercury Sable?

I have looked all over that car but I cannot find a hookup port for my OBD II code reader.

Am I barking up the wrong tree here?

OBD II were on '97 and newer cars, I'm afraid. You need an earlier code reader. Places like Autozone will read your codes for free, I believe.
