Can any one tell I'm excited about being a new Fairlane owner? It seems to be something to be proud of and this forum is very helpful. Question: I bought a 66 Fairlane 500, 1988 302, AOD tranny, front disc brakes, all original interior with no wear, all instruments work, no dents, no rust, rough paint. I paid 3800.00, is that a fair price and what does the"500" stand for. Thank you.

If the car is that solid, I think the amount is more than fair. The "500" is a trim level (FAIRLANE 500). It refers to the 500mi NASCAR races of years gone by.

Glad to here I didn't get robbed. Now, if I can just get the 460 squeezed in there.

Sounds like a good deal to me. The 460 should maybe wait till it's a little cooler in Texas.
