Been a while since i chatted about my project, back when i was stripping it i think.anyway, got it all stripped, welded in new patches in the bad rust spots, long strand fiberglassed over the patches and bigger dents, fillered the small dents ect. Big car = TON OF WORK anyway, shot some black epoxy at the two front fenders and the trunk lid today, first time painting, as it was the first time doing any of this work. Hopefully it turns out nice. Pictures to come sometime ------------------ 1974 Gran Torino(351W/c6) My Page shooting for 14's when it's done getting primered

Always loved these 72/79 intermediates. I had a 73 RANCHERO. You gonna paint it black again?

got the doors all straight this week and got them primered and the brightwork back on. Starting to come together, it's getting exciting.Edit: Sept 27th Got the driprails all nice and shaved, and then primered the Roof as well as the front pillars. Edit: Oct 7th Front end mostly re-assembled, quarters, grill and headlights all back on, looking darn good [This message has been edited by Dubz (edited 10-07-2004).]

Got a buddy to take some snaps of how the car is coming along. This was my first ever bodywork project, first time holding a paint gun, first time using body hammers and all the other fun toys i've grown to love and hate. This was also my first teardown of the front end components, and it was a learning experience, took video of taking the stuff apart which was a huge help, and indexed the bolts in bags, and took notes so i knew what size of bolt went where.Anyway, i think i've did a pretty decent job for a first timer, there was a huge dent in the drivers door where the car had been run into, and lots of rust to be fixed, quite a few minor dents and dings, and the roof seam (it had a vinyl top before) and trim holes are a bugger. Anyway, onto the pics, it's an industrial epoxy black, it's alot more glossy that i thought it would be, and hopefully it will stand up to the elements for a while. In the pictures it has some bondo sanding dust on it. hopefully the pictures work

Looks good. I have to tell you, when I was a kid these cars were new. When I started driving I hated them. I thought they looked bloated and slow (and they were slow). But now, I love them. If I wouldn't have bought my '68 wagon I think I would be looking for one of these, maybe in wagon form. Anyway, keep up the good work, B-loose

Today the overnight low here was +2Coutragous!! Gotta pack it away probably this or next week, as i'm sure we aren't gonna have good weather like this for long. Won't get to drive it again this year other than on and off a trailer again. oh, and i got a pic of the rollbar installed now
