Yeah, great car stuff! To bad the stunt cars looked obviously different from the 'hero' cars.
Plus, the skid plates and external camera mounts were painfully obvious.
However, I loved the flick, and its great to see the 'old girl' back in action!

They threw it into the water,though! All those good parts to waste.

The car that was tossed in the water was a clapped-out rust-bucket.Just a quick paint job and some wheels. No drivetrain or fluids of any kind. It was pulled from the drink and used for spare parts for the 'hero' cars.
It suffered severe front end damage, and the roof had to be cut off to allow it to be removed from the water.( so the water would drain out of it.)
No great loss.

The Hot Rod magazine Mike lent me says they destroyed 10 out of the 12 Torinos they prepped for the movie.

They shot that scene more than once. They Show the Stunt Outakes at the end of the film.
