 | posted 01-13-2004 11:06 PM I know the total length of the 66-67 Fairlane is the same as a 67-70 Mustang/Cougar but is the spring perch spacing (43) the same or is it 42?

 | posted 03-06-2004 10:47 PM I measured a 68 Torino GT yesterday with a 302 and it was 44 . The Ford Parts Interchange Manual by Paul A. Herd has 68-9 Torino and Montego with 390, 427 and 428 being a 9 with 44 perch center to perch center. 68-9 Torino and Montego with a 302 and an 8 rear being 41 perch center to center.
Anybody know what the answer is? Also would like to know what the perch to perch measurement is on the 66-67s. IP: Logged |

 | posted 03-10-2004 12:02 AM Sorry 68,I don't have it. The perch measurements will be the same between 8" and 9". The spring location decides that. I can't tell you if the pre-68 cars will fit. How about 70-71?

No problem! I think that the Herd book sucks! There are to many inconsistencies and I feel that I wasted my money on it. Looking for any year because Im trying to find out if a rear I have will fit in any mid-size Ford. IP: Logged |

 | posted 03-10-2004 09:29 PM Did you try a spring/suspension shop? maybe they can help you. Also,if you can find the Mitchell's interchange manuals, they would have it. Our library used to have them, but don't anymore.
