I've seen shock tower braces for everything but the 62-63 F'lane, does anyone produce one? Or are we on our own to mock one up Roger in Toronto

If you can't find one in Autokrafters or Dearborn Classics, then most likely noone makes them.

Yes, Monte carlo bar that runs from shock tower across the engine, does a little jog around the distributer. I've actually bought a 67-68 Mustang bar which is 4" to narrow but i'm going to put a sleeve at each mounting flange & tack weld it to the proper width then remove & weld her up right. Beast i can come up with & the Mustang bar was only $48.00 new Roger

do u all think that just a monte will be enough rigidity for my 66 fairlane? i plan to abuse and crossrace it. i sure do like those tcp monte and firewall to tower ones they triangulate! i was talking with tcp's http://totalcontrolproducts.com/main.html tech guy and he just needs to measure mine, and he can make em if he's in the mood have you... im sure those stang ones they already have made will fit, all he needs are your measurements but then again i dont know the 63 towers good luck!

Thanks for info. Just so you vknow the Mustang monte carlo bar for 64-66 stangs is about 4" too short which actually surprised me, i;m assuming that at the base of the towers the stang & F'lane end up about the same width though. Anyway , a local shop just addeed to the Mustang bar for me , so i'm all set Roger

The Mustang stuff or Falcon isn't even close. Modifying them is more work that just making something from scratch. I can build something if you need, the design depends on where the aircleaner sits for clearance as dual quads or such gets close to the rear mounts for it.

Tom: actually the mustang bar worked out. I cut each end off leaving a 4" length of pipe at each end, slid in a solid piece of bar stock, spread the brace & bolted it in , tack welded the solid bar, removed & did the final welds, with a little work you can;t tell it wasn't made for the car, now that i look at this , yes, you;re right, it was a real pain to get it done. Thnaks for the offer. Now, if you find a post 67 8" pumpkin out your way please let me know. My 62's 8" center is a weak link, love to find an 8" posi & i;m out your way all the time Roger

Do those types of bars work on a full frame car, or is it just the unibodies?

a uni-body car you can feel the difference, a full frame car would have to be putting out a lot of power, to the point a roll cage and frame stiffening would be needed to truly need a monty bar. But, if you followed Hot Rods Montego build it sure helped on the road course

i found a later 8" pumpkin out of a 68 stang but its not a posi & hasbrand new 3:00 gears, so yes & no, still looking for posi(trac-loc) & lower gears than i have which are 3:50's. With the AOD i;m thinking i could run 4:11's, but, if i could find a posi unit i could use my stock 3:50's & install it all in the 68 housing, i think Roger
