Man, would I ever love to have THAT in my Garage!! C`mon lottery numbers! We have had a real 66 "R" code 427 Fairlane in our area, that was sponsored by a local Ford dealer back in 66, & maybe 67. It changed hands a few times in it`s first few years of life, & then the same owner had it from, I believe, 1971 until last year. He raced it some in the 70`s, but never seen much of it after that, except if the garage door was open at his farm house, where it "slept" with a Pantera. The fellow who bought it is doing a full resto on the car, which although it was raced as a Super Stock car early on, it never got tubbed, or cut up too much. One interesting thing about that car was it was a "heater delete" car, with the firewall "punch outs" still in place.

That red 67 post at B-J auction (that sounds kinky!) was also from this area... a Seattle fella sold it to the guy who auctioned it off.

Ray Paquet still has his 67 427 SS Fairlane sedan "R" car transplant. (interesting story as Ray actually bought 2 new 67 Fairlanes) It's the car he won the US Nationals with in 1980 just after the first time he sold his T-Bolt.

Hey Alex, I hear Ray runs one of those Fairlanes at nostalgia events.. Last I heard he ran it last year at one..When it was running SS it was a SS/DA.. i think its still is.. I forgot who he bought that car from..I have to ask my dad he knows the story of the Fairlane..

Hey Rory who's Fairlane are you talking about dad may know him..

Pat Gerek's SS/D "R" code car was rumored to be asking over 100 grand for it..

Stephen, the 66 Fairlane was origionally sponsered by Fogg Motors (a Ford dealership) in New Westminster B.C. Canada, & raced by a fellow named Bob Nottingham for a year or 2. It was later owned and raced by another BC resident, George Davis for a while. At some point it was sponsered by "Big O tires", also was lettered the "Hungry Eye" some time during the late 60`s or early 70`s. I first looked at the car in 1973, when I was 16 years old, after the owner of a local speed shop told me about the car. By then it was owned by Jack Koka(sp?), who raced it a bit in the early-mid 70`s, but turned down MANY offers to sell the car, until recently. It was painted white with a single wide red stripe back in the mid -late 70`s, and it never changed much during the 30 years or so that Jack owned the car.

Dad remembers that car..

The car that Ray has is Ted Well's old Fairlane... I think it was sold to Vic Krol and then Ray bought it or something like that..
