Hi..new to this forum!Got a Question.I have a:64 fairlane/2990lbs/289 with 69 351 heads(ported exaust)11:1 comp/230 dur 520 lift cam/offy dual4(2 625 carters)good ignition/4:11 rear(single track but spool on the way)c-6(manual shift)My problem?only ran a 14.08 at the track(was hoping for 13.3.no traction and top end did not feel like it was pulling hard enough.Probabaly over carbed but i like the look of it.like to know any ideas i can try for the next race.
ps:tom,were you at the airport drags?I think i saw you taking pictures.

I was most certainly there.

No traction and non posi are losing you a ton of ET.

Maybe lean out the carbs a little more,or a progressive linkage?

Thanks for the replies.The traction thing I knew, but its the top end that seems a bit weak.already have progressive linkage and the carbs are tuned about right...timings around 15 ini and 39 total.think a single four be better?if so, which manifold would you guys recomend.

Definitely lose the AFBs and get a Holley 750 double pumper and a Edelbrock Air Gap RPM.

1250 cfms are a bit much for a mild 289, don't you think?

There's also .3 to pick up swapping the C6 for a C4.
