I was looking in today's paper and seen that some guy has a 1966 Fairlane 500- 289 4bbl for sale. He's asking $1800. i have no idea wut condition its in or even if it runs, but say its completely stock and looking/running like its 36 years old...is 1800 a good price for it? i'll try and make my dad take me to look at it so i can give u some more info, but i highly doubt that he'll take me.

a 289 with a 4 barrel isn't stock... probably a 289 2V car that has had the carb and manifold changed.
a 289-2V is a "C" code. the 5th digit in the VIN number stamped on the rad support near the rad cap should be a "C" as in 6K40C1....

at $1800 it isn't too badly priced... check for rust, Fairlanes can rust in the floor under the drivers feet, the firewall behind the front tires and the trunk sides above the rear of the springs. One that's too rusty can cost a lot to fix.

never heard of or seen that... 289 4V's in 67 Falcon's tho.

Unless Fairlanes are different in the US than here, the choices were 200-1V, 289-2V, 390-2V and 390-4V(Z code), with the 390 "S" code 4V available only in GT models.
