Mike just added Magnums to his Torino and I think it looks great.

They beat the hell out of those Keystone Classics, don't they? 14's are a little small on the car,but for now, hey, why not. I have 245/60's in back. If I move them to the front, could I get a 15" painted Magnum so I could put a bigger tire in the back? Did Ford make any?

Mike, a 15x7" Magnum 500 with a argent painted center was available on 69 Boss 302`s, although the rim itself was chrome. As you can imagine being a Boss piece, they are fairly pricey. Not very common neither. Is that the original color on your 72? Did you add the roof trim, or did you remove a vinyl top.
Theres a guy up in this area that has a real nice 72 Gran Torino Sport, factory 429 car. He has 15x7 chrome Magnum 500`s on it.If I see it at the track this year, I`ll try & get TomP to put up a picture of it.

As for painted 15" Magnums, what did those big Cougars, Rancheros, LTDs and T-Birds in the late 70s use? I remember seeing lots of those with Magnums. They couldn't have been 14s, were they?

I saw a 76 Cougar with these wheels last summer for sale, and they were 14's. The tires were 225/70/14. They are tall enough, but too skinny. I've seen 295/50/15's on 15x8 Magnums on the back of a Sport, and they were well in the fenderwells!

Mustangs Unlimited has 15x7 and 15x8 Magnums. If you like to scrounge, look for the big Chryslers. Some had Magnums (same supplier) in 15x7, and even 15x8 (so I've been told by the local Dodger).
