Sell the ranchero and buy a boat. Use the 350 for an anchor.

Well, in that case...

If the engine is truly rebuilt and in good shape, I'd go for it.

It should have the same bolt pattern right guys?

Didn't mean to be rude before. I just hate to see Chebbie motors in Fords.

Except for minor issues like maybe exhaust?
it will go right in there.

I think the 351 is a bit wider than the 289/302. you might have some clearance problems with the shock towers.

You will have width problems, try the crities shock tower kit if your not up to trimming them your self, the crities kit is just a couple of chunks of steel with lousy instructions. Call em what you will we Ford guys have to turbo, super charge or spend thousands just to stay up with those "boat anchor 350's".

If your shock towers are straight there will not be a clearance problem with a 351W, and there are headers made for this application. Depending upon the intake, there may be hood clearance problems. A 351C is extremely close because of the wider heads. The 351W is taller than the C and not quite as wide. A 351W should bolt right in. Somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but I think the 351W will bolt to a late 65 C-4 or T-10 transmission.

you will have to shave the shock towers if you want that 351 to fit in your falcon bay, believe me, even if you do squeeze it in, you;l wish you modified those towers for clearance

The only trans issue will be if yours has the 5 bolt bell, all smallblocks from '66-up(and the LATER '65's)have the 6 bolt bell.
