I saw these headers on ebay and the guy says that they came from a 60 Falcon that had a 390 in it. Would one fit or would there have to be major mods? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7937193994&category=33631&sspagename=WDVW ------------------ Ed S. 68 S-code FB GT 4spd(now C6)/3.25 PS PDB 68 J-code(now 289) Cp Sprint"B" C4/3L00-9" PDB PS AC 99 F150 XLT Ext/cab, 4X4, 5.4L, 3L55

I don't know for sure but that has got to be a tight fit?

Those are the Hooker Headers for a 65-69 Galaxie. They won't fit any Falcon unless the shiock tower are cut out.

The 390 heads will hit the shock towers. They can be cut and notched, but it was not a popular swap as it was just to heavy and large to be done often. In 1960 Ray Brock installed a 312 into a Falcon. Find the 1960 issue of Hotrod that has the Falcon on the cover for the story. Sorry I dont remember which month it was.

Crites selles a shock tower kit that will allow the FEs to fit but no way will they fit in stock condition.Back in the day the guys used to cut out the shock towers and put in a straight axle out of an econoline van.I have a 63 which is almost identical and a small block is a very tight fit!------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker...................................................................1966 mustang coupe project.289 4 speed,3.20 rear http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html [This message has been edited by mustangboy (edited 08-20-2005).]
