Whats the deal with the Merkur brand? is it a branch of ford, do they use ford parts. the reason i ask is because my girlfriend has a merkur xr4ti, and she wants to modify it. i think she has a 2.3L sounds like a ford. anyone know of a good website or even a merkur message board.

It uses the 2.3L OHC (Turbo and EFI), the same as the MUST SVO and TBIRD Turbo-Coupe. What makes it unique is the MERCEDES (or BMW?) 5/spd and IRS. You can upgrade it with regular 2.3L parts.

There is much information and following on these and the SCORPIO. Just do a basic search on Google.

I forgot to mention it was imported here by LINC-MERC from FORD of GERMANY. Beautiful machine if you are into EUROPEAN technology. My brother has one and is in love with it.
