On my Dad's '64 Ranchero, the turn signals do not blink at idle when the headlights are on. They work with lights off, and they work when lights on and engine is above idle. Ideas?------------------ Gary M couple of '46 Ford trucks, '57 Fairlane, & '70 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof

voltage issue. Could be the alternator, could be wiring, could be a poor connection causing resistance; corroded or something. I'm pretty sure there is a relay/switch or whatever that runs the blinkers, could be that is getting weak and the voltage that previously worked it isn't enough.First thing, I'd check the voltage at the battery while running with all accessories on and running. It should be no less than 12.5v with all accessories on, never any higher than 15v.

Thanks, we will check the voltage. Somebody also told us to check what gauge wire is running to the aftermarket ammeter under the dash.------------------ Gary M couple of '46 Ford trucks, '57 Fairlane, & '70 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof
