I just pulled my I-6 out and the bell housing is definitely not going to work for my 5.0. I think I am going to get one from a '76 Mustang II. Although everything will bolt together I am not sure which flex plate I need or if my old converter will bolt up..any ideas?

THANKS!!!

The MUSTANG II (302) used a special small bellhousing and 148T flexplate. If you are putting a 5.0L against it, you have to consider the imbalance problem. The later 5.0L (1982/) will have a 28oz. imbalance whereas the 5.0L/302 before that date will have the 50oz. imbalance.

I do not know of a 148T flexplate with the 50oz. imbalance, so you are going to have to have everything balanced together, unless someone like TCI offers one.

Let me know what you find out on this one...interesting.
