If it's the same as Mustang, the only way to tell besides a Marti report is the interior trim is HB. Sprints were the only car to get that code.Good eye, Jim. You're also right about them not having stars on the hood. He is missing the USA shields on the rear quarters, too. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

It's got a passenger side quarter emblem, and a blue dashboard. I wonder if someone swapped the interior out? ------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber [email protected] with AC and overdrive. http://www.maverickgrabber.com

They must have swapped the trim code at the same time. He has the very rare blue striped hub caps, {Sprint only} my guess is he rebodied a Sprint.

I just looked up the interior codes and they don't have an RB for '72 Maverick, maybe he's misreading it and it actually is HB and it's a real Sprint.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

Did anyone see the small emblem on the center of the dash? Also there is no Sprint shield on the driver side?

Jim, If you're refering to the "Fasten seatbelts" light, I had one on the dash of my 72 car, it's not a Sprint though. My 2 cents here. It may be a Sprint that has had the interior changed out to a Grabber one for whatever reason. Also the taste in paint jobs could be chalked to the individual. Maybe he liked stars. Yep, that's the fasten seat belts light for the passenger. I had a 1972 parts car with that same light (still have the dash in my room at my parents place! )------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber [email protected] with AC and overdrive. http://www.maverickgrabber.com

One of the hub caps on my Mustang has a red stripe. What did that come off of? ------------------ Erwin '73 H-code vert [This message has been edited by 73trials (edited 02-27-2004).]

The only other stripe on corporate hub caps that I know of besides black were the grabber blue ones for Sprints, but I know Canada had their own version of the Sprint which was red and white and it had a maple leaf instead of a USA shield. Maybe their caps were red striped? ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

That could be it, I suppose. I spotted this one in the junkyard among a pile of black-striped corporate caps, I've been curious as to what it could be from. ------------------
