It took my breath away from the 1st to 2nd shift and 3rd to 4th was a bit to much for the road I was on! The V-Gate shifted perfect I can't believe I never had one before. The Kelly 60's hooked up better than I thought they would.Oh Ya! Every person I passed turned there head!!

Quickly!!

nothing better than Bang-Yahoo with a stick shift car!!!!! Engine looks good!!!!! not meaning to offend you..... you might want to get the coil off the cylinder head. they tend to go south from the heat transfered from the head...

No offence taken! I was going to move it but just haven't gotten to it and that wire was the only one I had.

Thanks John Yes I will run her in the spring But I still need to do a few things.I want to put in frame rails in the winter and I still need to install the spool in the rearend. I find myself really bored if I'm not working on the Mav. Although my son's 68 stang project is going to be great! he's making a CS out of it! The best part about doing this car is how rare it really is. I'm pretty lucky that the wife lets me dump the cash into this hobby like she does. Most wives don't understand!I have tried to put only the best parts in it and take no short cuts! I also did almost all of the work myself. I have learned so much from it! Hard to believe a 34 year old car could teach ya anything!

actually jim, todd has done virtually ALL the work on the 100 dollar mav. including: disc brake swap, rear end swap, leaf spring swap, all new shocks, and swapping out the 200 for a 302. a local muffler shop did the exhaust. 2 1/2 inch pipes. a buddy of mine who is a hopeless ford freak basicaly talked todd thrpough it. i purposely stayed out of this project so todd can feel goos that he did everything himself without dad. needless to say he is very proud of himself! (so am i)

That is great! I can't tell you how Cool I think that is. These are things that will come back to help him the rest of his life.
When he is older no one will burn him at a garage. Hell I'm proud of him and I don't really know him. I know we have been tring to get together but this spring lets make it happen so I can meet this new wrench you have in the family.

jim those of us in the maverick/comet club (me n todd are the nj state reps) are going to do a cool thing starting in the spring. it is called mavericks across america. somebody in the east is gonna buy a disposable camera. after taking a picture of his mav in front of some landmark as to where he/she lives, he/she will drive to the nearest maverick in the next state. (hint...jim buys a camera, snaps a shot and drives to NJ). then the guy with the camera snaps a shot of his car and the car in the next state. (in my case maybe in front of those stinking refineries on the nj turnpike!) then i take the camera to its' next stop.this may take a while but sounds like fun! waddaya say? if not, that's ok too. me n todd will try to get to your place this spring!

you belong to the club? if not why not join? i don't think CT even has a state rep. of course you don't have to be a club member to do the mav across america thing. the camera(s) are going to work its way to the west coast. that's the plan!

That sounds really cool. I got a 70 maverick that I am working on. Out with the six, in with the 302. I am getting a 9inch rear for it, and new leafs and converting to front disc. Its a lot of work. Engine will be in within the next two weeks.
