Thanks guys,
Have'nt seen this thread in a while! 5ldoner, Beautiful work, love the yellow. I can't wait to start my 5.0 swap. BTW, I shuffled the order of my pics around on star photo not realizing that it would affect the before photo on this post. Gotta fix that.

How do you like the performance of the 260? Is the power good? It must be pretty good on fuel, huh?

I WISH the weather was good enough...been snowing here for the past 18 days in a row and has only made it up to 30 one time...the rest of the time it hovers between -6 and
20! My cruising is opening the garage door,
starting it up,and moving it back and forth around 6 ft.! ...Chris

When I was 16 my father had a '64 Fairlane 500 with a 260, three speed column stick, and a 3:55 rear end...ran like a bat out of hell with that combo! Believe it or not I beat a Plymouth Satellite, auto, with a 383 4v in the quarter with it...he had no gears for the quarter mile. Ran him 3 times and each time I took him by about 1-1/4 car lengths at the end!
Beat quite a few 283 and low powered 327 Chevy's with it too...embarassed the crap out of them! ...Chris's husband

It's a relatively fresh motor with a mild cam, Autolite 595 cfm 4 barrel, and dual glass packs and for a baby windsor it holds it's own. The T-10 really makes it a fun car to drive and yes it does do pretty well on fuel for having what I call compromise (3.25) gearing. I think it would do better with a newer, smaller carb and an electonic ign. conversion. I'm actually planning to do a 5.0 H.O./T-5 swap in the near future. BTW, Christine that's a cool story!

falcon64,

as i am sure you know i was having to sell my 63 hardtop a while back but not i am thinking i can make things work without selling it. your post about your 5.0 efi (i assume) and t-5 made me look twice. i have a salvage 88gt with the 5.0 5 speed and 59k orig. miles. i am thinking about doing the same swap. although in the process i am thinking about upgrading to a rod a custom mustang 2 front suspension. i looked at it this way, i would like to do a disk brake conversion $300-800 dollars depending on if i use granada or not. i should probably rebuild my upper and lower control arms and get a larger sway bar $380-450 depending on brand. i also would like to upgrade to rack and pinion steering (flaming river with tilt or a total control) $1000-1400. after i did some math i think a rod and custom front end would be a great road to take. the kit cost 2,300 total complete. i would do the installation myself and have a shop finish up the welding necessary. please expand on your future conversion, i would like to hear what you have come up with and swap some ideas with you.

thanks Byron

Byron,
In case you look here first, see my reply to your post on Falcon Forums. You really threw me when you used a different user name. I knew there could'nt be 2 yellow '63 Falcon engine bays that identical, but I didn't actually know it was you until today.
