recently started a 289 swap into a maverick that originally had a 250 in it. the only problem i've run into is the transmission cross member doesn't match up with the transmission. the bolt holes on the cross member need to be about 2 inches forward. anyone have any fixes for this?

I had that problem once and solved it by using a small piece of plate steel with four holes drilled in it. Bolted the rear to the crossmember and the front to the transmission. It was a very heavy duty mount.Sometimes reversing the crossmember moves the holes into a more favorable location. Have fun. John

Welcome to M&M!Are you sure that the motor mounts are installed correctly? I know if they are reversed the engine will sit farther forward. ------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber [email protected] with AC and overdrive. http://www.maverickgrabber.com
