Are highbacks the same for Mustangs, Mavericks and Pintos except for the covers?

They are basically the same seat... I have a 72 Mustang seat in mine (Drivers side) that was replaced at the dealer in 1975. The cover and seat tract were swapped over to the Mustang seat and you can't tell the difference. They used the Mustang seat because Maverick seats weren't available. The regional service rep at the time actually called Ford for authorization.

The 70 mustang highback is different from a grabber seat even in the way the seat track bolts on to it! It can be made to work but it is not a direct fit. Aslo you need the seat tracks from a grabber to even get close
to making them fit!

I concur... The seat tracts are the only way if you want to fit them in a Mav. The 69-70 seats are totally different than 71 thru 73... I have a set of bucket seat tracts from a 70 MAV and the are different than my 71... I hear 69-70 Mavs have different floorrs than 71 thru73???? is this true??
