I think Jim Osborn makes that decal, they are one of our great sponsors. Try clicking on the lower left link in the sponsor bar at the top of the page, and contacting them! ------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber [email protected] with AC and overdrive. http://www.maverickgrabber.com

I seem to recall there was a place called the "maverick Connection", or something like that a few years back, are they still around? Todd, is your Maverick red? I remember seeing a red Mav at the Bremerton All Ford drags a few years back. Also, do you know Don Divito, from Puyallup? He hasn`t ran it for a few years now, but he has a early 70`s blue & white Maverick Grabber race car, that he bought new, & runs mid 10`s with a 302 & Jerico 4speed. I`ve known him since I first raced at Bremerton in 1980. Are you planning on bringing your Maverick up to Mission this year?------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd

Rory, The Red Mav is a guys named Tim Theil??? I just saw it in a magazine article a few months ago. He's running a 460+ in. with ton's of n2o... last I saw he was REAL close to getting his first 7 sec. time slip.Beautiful car!!!! Divto is still aroun.... I saw him at the all Ford drags @ Bremerton in July?.. He and Dave Bliss are running a car now? Don pushed the Maverick in the bushes... It's for sale I think? I used to dig watching that car leave the line!!! It still is the hardest leaving car I have seen... Don used to side step @ about 8500 rpm's. My car is Grabber Blue.. Used to owed by Bob Inks down here in Kennmore. Bob owns T&D Performance Machine.. Bob sold(let me borrow) the car in 1985.Mission??? Ya the guys from Meridian Perfomance up in Blaine want me to come up...I've been there once the first year it was opened. Great track. Bob built a Yates headed SBF that's in a 65 mustang that Gene runs up there in the Super Shifter class. Gene's lightnened the car up this winter and should be knocking on the 7 second door!!!! Fairmont!!!! cool!!! Glidden's Fairmont almost made me build one!!!! That car was GREAT...... It needs to warm up and quit raining!!!!!------------------ Todd 71 Mav Grabber All orig 306 cu.in. Todd, No, I know Theils orange BB Maverick, the red one I am thinking of is not tubbed, or at least not much. It may be from the Marysville area. I am also quite familiar with both Gene Kirner`s mid 8 second 66 Mustang, since I also race in the Super Shifter class, as does TomP on this forum. One of our regulars races a early 70 Maverick with a 300 Ford 6 cyl, with 3 webber carbs. He has been running the 6 banger since 1973, first as a H/MP class car, & mainly in our stick class the past few years. I also know Tyler from T&D, back when he used to run FE`s in his beautiful 68 Mustang Fastback. In fact, we ran each other in the final at the SIR All Ford Drags about 8 years ago. As for Divito, he has had his Maverick for sale for a couple of years now, but I`ll bet if he put another 10 second 302 in it, & ran it a bit, it would sell itself. As you mentioned, it is a great working car! I believe he bought Dave Bliss`s 64 Falcon last year. What a car that one is!! Not too many Windsor styled headed, single 4 barrel 302, naturally aspirated 8 second full bodied cars at the track.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd

Rory, Now I remember the red Mav. Don't know the guys name, but the car is really clean. We talked at the all ford drags at Sir last year.Mid to high eleven second car??? He was amazed how quick my car was with cast iron cylinder heads.Tyler and Bob have talked me into building the same 392 in motor that's in Tyler's 68. Tyler put a 100hp shot on his and dipped into the 9's.So if you know anyone who wants a fresh 306 motor let me know??? It's in the classifieds here as Buy my 306.. It's a steal at 3k!!!!! I couldn't by the Carrilo rods and pistons for that!!!!lol. My car is pictured on FordMuscle.com under reader's cars, Mavericks, username TAure... I thought Divito had hurt his back and wasn't able to drive. Happy Shifting!!!!!!------------------ Todd 71 Mav Grabber All orig 306 cu.in. Cast Iron heads. Todd ,if its not "top secret" would you mind giving me some specs on that 392? I will be building a 393w probably next year for my maverick and will be using Victor jr. heads, and a pump gas friendly compression ratio ,along with a 10" 3800 converter and a 4.11 gear, both of which are already behind my 306. Thanks------------------ http://maverickgrabber.iwarp.com

Is this the 4-door BBF Maverick? If so, I spoke with him at length at last year's FFW in Houston. From what I remember, he (or his dad) DID buy it new. I didn't think he would ever 'push it in the bushes' much less sell it! Sad. ------------------ Building 1970 Grabber, 347 EFI, AOD, 9", 6pt for strip.

Good. I thought it was the car in this link (can't remember his name - anyone else?) Unfortunatley, that's me in the pic (flag in background) and none of him! http://home.swbell.net/dablbdab/FunFordBaytown02.html [This message has been edited by RickBook (edited 04-04-2003).]
